Electrical House of Horrors, Part II

We're back with Part II of our Bad Electrical Series, inspired by a recent project which we've lovingly dubbed the "Electrical House of Horrors," because of myriad electrical issues. It's a cautionary tale of what can potentially happen when you attempt a DIY project that is not properly inspected.

As a public service, we've documented some of these instances, and will present our electrical nightmare home in a series of before and after shots as a lesson of what NOT to do!

Next up, (as seen in two shots at the top) we came across these improperly rated pot lights that were installed directly within batt insulation, which created a major fire hazard. Only certain pot lights have a fire rating high enough to be permitted for use in such an application, and all you need to do is read the instructions here to know that this particular light is a big no-no in this situation. In the two shots below, you can see the correct pot lights have been installed for this application.

As always, never engage in electrical work unless you are fully licensed to do so.
