A PROPRIETARY PROCESS
Planning for a new home or renovation can be an exciting, challenging and sometimes overwhelming experience. A solid plan in place is crucial in ensuring your new home or renovation project reflects your personal lifestyle, design and architectural tastes.
Probuilt Design + Build has developed the PROPLAN Lifestyle Planning Guide to assist in the development and design of your new home or renovation project. You will be asked to define priorities, establish needs and explore adjacencies, all of which combine to form a foundation of guidelines from which to proceed.
PROPLAN allows us to understand what inspires you, what has influenced you, what your practical and aesthetic requirements are, and so much more. When this is integrated into our RENOVISION approach, you’ll appreciate the peace of mind and clarity as the project moves forward.
DETAILS
We think of everything, and take care of all the details. Part of our process is to ensure no surprises for you or your neighbours. We hand deliver our Letter of Introduction to each neighbour on your street advising of our start date and the expected duration of your project. As well, through our Client Directives meeting, we determine anticipated parking concerns and take measures to eliminate any disruptions to the neighbourhood.
EXPERIENCE
Michael Upshall, Founder
Michael is a well-known face in design and home/lifestyle magazines, and a regular speaker on stage at GTA Home Shows. The founder of our Company, Michael is a master carpenter who naturally progressed into a renovator and builder. His career spans over 40 years, and Probuilt Design + Build's collection of awards and recognitions continue to grow. Probuilt Design + Build was the first two-time recipient of the BILD “Renovator of the Year” Award (2002 & 2006).
Michael is on the Advisory Council for Canadian Contractor magazine and an on-going contributor and past speaker for the Building Renovation Technician Program at George Brown College.
Marion Upshall, President
Marion joined PROBUILT 22 years ago from a 15 year Executive Career. Her experience in running complex construction projects is unrivalled, achieved with a mix of skills including diplomacy, technical knowledge, leadership, and sheer determination. Her charming persona plays a large part too, although sometimes she must get the whip out and get tough! As the liaison for each client and project, Marion’s organizational skills, attention to detail and budgets, provides for a smooth renovation process.
Michael Upshall Jr, Site Supervisor
Michael Upshall Jr has the same love and drive for building as his father. He came on board working with the company during the summer months at the young age of 14, and has been working every summer as well as doing his Architectural Technology College Co-op hours with Probuilt Design + Build. It was a natural occurrence to include Michael Jr in the succession plan of our Company, which includes shadowing Michael Sr in all facets. From attending trade shows (both industry and consumer), meeting prospective clients, attending Initial Consultation meetings, to preparing designs as well as learning the estimating process, and working in the field from general labourer to Junior Site Supervisor. Now Michael has gained much invaluable first-hand experience over the past few years, he holds the role of Site Supervisor and is an integral part of the business.
