Tools of the Trade...

Michael Upshall started as a carpenter in the late 70s. He framed homes and moved up to foreman and then to residential site supervisor in the building industry. In 1989 he started taking on his own jobs and, in 1991, formed PROBUILT by Michael Upshall. In over thirty years, he’s accumulated more tools than you can fathom and, of all the tools he utilizes, his BOSCH power tools stand out.bosch Tools resized 600

“I love them,” says Michael. “They are sturdy, well-designed, nicely balanced and truly a trusted friend.” You could say they are an extension of his existence as, for a tradesman, his tools are just as important as his talents. His favourite of the many BOSCH tools he owns? “My compound mitre saws. They are very well engineered and, for the many years I’ve owned and moved them from site to site, they have never given me any trouble.” describe the imageAs he really thinks about it, Michael realizes that none of his BOSCH tools have faltered. From power planers and orbital sanders to hand-held tools, they have all performed exceptionally well, including the Tassimo coffee maker his subcontractors and trades depend upon at jobsites.

Robert Bosch, a precision mechanic, founded his company in 1886. It is his “precision engineering” that has been celebrated for 125 years, including everything from vehicle engines, to the latest pocket drill, to countertop kitchen appliances. It’s nice to know that the phenomenal performance of BOSCH tools on the jobsite continues in the accessories through to the appliances installed in our newly renovated spaces.

BOSCH was the tool of choice when PROBUILT erected the 2009 Dream Home at Toronto’s National Home Show. “We had all sorts of trades sharing tools on that job,” recollects Michael as he fondly remembers building that third Dream Home. “Whether you were the strongest guy or the smallest female, right-handed or left, the sharing of BOSCH tools was never an issue.”
